Mboa Sawa O America (MSOA) is a welcoming association for individuals of Sawa origin living in the United States. We particularly invite those residing in the DC-MD-VA area, as well as anyone in other regions without an established Sawa community. Our mission is to create a space where all who identify as Sawa can connect, engage, and celebrate their heritage together.
The Sawa people hail from the coastal and geographical region of Cameroon, which spans from Campo to Mamfe. We recognize that Sawa identity can come from various connections – whether through ancestry, marriage, or personal affinity. Because of this, membership is open to anyone who identifies with the Sawa culture, regardless of their specific background.
Joining MSOA is completely voluntary, and we strive to cultivate an inclusive and supportive environment for all our members. By participating, you will have the chance to connect with others who share similar experiences and backgrounds. We organize cultural events, educational workshops, and social gatherings aimed at celebrating our rich traditions and promoting awareness of Sawa culture.
These activities not only honor our heritage but also provide valuable opportunities for networking and building lasting friendships within the Sawa community. If you identify as Sawa and are interested in becoming part of MSOA, we warmly encourage you to reach out. Together, we can strengthen our community and ensure that our traditions are preserved and celebrated for generations to come. We look forward to welcoming you to MSOA!
